Technology has been part of our lives for a long time. Some people think technology means computers, cell phones, or digital cameras, but technology is a way to solve everyday problems, and it’s always present in our evolution as human beings.
Until a few years ago, we thought that a spaceship flying through the roof of our house was a science fiction story; the truth is that virtual reality and augmented reality can make it real, or at least an experience in front of our eyes.
Virtual reality (VR) allows us to create a virtual world from scratch with anything we want; those scenarios are customized and designed by us.
On the other hand, augmented reality (AR) adds virtual elements and information in the form of images to our natural environment.
In Landian, through the VR headset, we create the sensation that we are actually in a scenario, a life that does not have to be fictional but can be a reality. The metaverse works directly with virtual and augmented reality, and we aim to bridge the gap between these two worlds.
Virtual reality is different because we are completely immersed in a virtual world created from nothing; this means we can simulate a complete sensory experience inside an artificial environment without seeing anything outside. We need special glasses and a headset to experience this virtual world when necessary.
The VR headset must be designed for these adventure scenarios with a screen you can see right in front of your eyes. There are two types of headsets, one with a built-in screen like the Oculus Rift and one that needs a smartphone as a screen like the Samsung’s Gear VR.
The experiences we can live in the metaverse can transcend our virtual world; they become our everyday life and allow us to visit “the new world” created by ourselves.
